A practical guide

Finding a homeopath in North London

If you’re searching for a homeopath in North London, this is what I’d want a friend to know before booking with anyone — me included.

People usually find their way to homeopathy through a recommendation — a friend whose family sees a homeopath, a health-food shop conversation, a testimonial that sounds like their own story. But if you’re starting from a search box instead, it’s hard to know what separates one practitioner from another. Here’s what I’d look for.

Check training and registration

Homeopathy in the UK is unregulated by statute, which makes the practitioner’s own training and professional registration the things to check. Ask where they studied and for how long — a full professional training is typically three to four years. I trained for four years at the College of Practical Homeopathy and went on to graduate from the College of Homeopathic Education, and I hold the letters L.C.H. and E.M.A.R.H. A registered homeopath is bound by a code of ethics, carries insurance and has committed to continuing professional development.

Experience with your kind of problem

Most experienced homeopaths work with the whole range of complaints, because homeopathy is more about the person than the diagnosis. That said, it’s fair to ask whether they regularly see cases like yours — children, menopause, anxiety, skin, digestion. You can see the sorts of conditions clients commonly bring to me on my homeopathy page.

In person or by video?

I see clients in person in North London — people come from Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Highgate, Hampstead, Islington, Camden and further out — and I also consult by WhatsApp video and FaceTime. A first consultation is long and personal, so choose whichever setting lets you talk freely. Some people want the room; others prefer their own sofa.

The first conversation costs nothing

Any homeopath worth seeing will happily have a short phone conversation before you commit. Use it. You’ll learn more from five minutes of talking than from any website — you’re choosing someone you may work with for months, and the fit matters. You should come away feeling listened to, not sold to.

Questions worth asking

  • Where did you train, and how long was the training?
  • Which register are you on, and are you insured?
  • How long is a first consultation, and what does it cost?
  • How do follow-ups work, and how often will I need them?
  • Will you work alongside my GP and my existing medication?

That last one matters. A responsible homeopath will never ask you to stop prescribed medication — that’s a decision for you and your prescriber. Homeopathy works alongside conventional care, not instead of it.

What working with me looks like

If you’d like to know how I practise, I’ve written about what happens in a first consultation, and my clients say it better than I can on the testimonials page. If you’d like that first conversation, call me on 07956 217 276 — if I’m with a client, leave a message and I’ll ring you back.

Homeopathy is a complementary approach: it sits alongside, and never replaces, the care of your GP or hospital team. If you have new, severe or worrying symptoms, please see your doctor or call NHS 111 first — and keep taking any prescribed medication unless your prescriber tells you otherwise.

Please feel free to contact me today on 07956 217 276 to discuss how I can help you. I also consult by WhatsApp video and FaceTime.
